Villars and Crans-Montana
The charming French-speaking Alpine resort, Villars is set at 1256m in a beautiful south-facing location above the Rhone Valley. There are over 320km of marked paths both in the immediate vicinity and on the higher Alpine slopes. From the centre of the village a quaint mountain railway takes you to Bretaye and its three lakes, at the hub of a vast walking area.
Crans-Montana is situated on a south facing plateau high above the Rhone Valley, looking across to the impressive peaks of the Southern Alps. Originally two villages, the two are now one. Golf fans will love the challenge and choice of four golf courses; the three 9 hole courses and the 18 hole Severiano Ballesteros course, where the Omega European Masters tournament takes place. Crans-Montana has a casino and a wide variety of shops, bars, mountain restaurants,a s well as sports such as hiking, paragliding, tennis, fishing, rafting, and swimming.
