Christopher Rudolph directs this excellent Relais and Chateaux hotel whilst his staff provide friendly, efficient and detailed service. Set by the lake in Vevey, it has lovely views to the lake and spectacular French Alps. The local bus stops right outside.

Facilities: Lounge, bar, oriental corner garden and terraces, outdoor heated swimming pool. Free access to the Bellefontaine Health and Wellness centre with fitness room, sauna, steam room, Free Wi-Fi access in public areas, Spa and beauty treatments available.

Meals: Buffet breakfast. Half board with a three course evening meal in La Veranda available at a supplement. Guests dining on a half board basis can upgrade to the Les Saisons fine dining restaurant.

Rooms: 50 rooms with cable and satellite TV, telephone, free internet access, minibar, safe, bathrobes and slippers. Prices are based on a superior double with bath or shower and wc. The following room types are also available at a supplement (per person per night):
