There is a wide variety of excursions and walks in and around Wilderswill and the Bernese Oberland region. Including a fascinating and unforgettable full day excursion in the mountains to the highest railway station in Europe. Wilderswil is a typical little Oberland village with flower-decked chalets and friendly, hospitable people. Here in a peaceful country atmosphere you can spend a restful holiday amidst the most beautiful scenery, yet lively Interlaken is just a few minutes away by train or bus.

There are some lovely walks on the outskirts of the village, whilst the mountain railway can soon bring you up to the higher alpine paths. A pleasant morning walk takes you to Bonigen on Lake Brienz whilst a little rack and pinion railway leads from Wilderswil up to the famous Alpine Flower Garden (open mid June onwards) at Schynige Platte from where there are superb views over the lakes and to the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Most weeks there is either an open air concert by the village band or the local folklore club meets in the village square. Rustic stublis and cosy bars offer relaxed evening entertainment.
