Walking Weeks
Wengen is surrounded by some of the best walking country in Switzerland. Escorted by our guide Urs Kaderli, you will be able to enjoy much of the beauty and grandeur of this area. There are four walks per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. (Please note: walks are subject to a minimum of 8 people attending). Walks cost from £105 per person per week.
Traditional Walking WeeksThese walks are held on the following weeks: 28 June and 6 September. Walks are between 11 and 14km (4-5 hours actual walking time) with upto 800m ascent on the following routes:
- Monday - Maennlichen-Bustiglen-Leine Scheidegg-Rinderhuette-Wengernalp
- Tuesday - Gingelwald-Marmorbruch-Pfingstegg-Wetterhorn-Grindelwald
- Thursday - Gruetschalp-Sausmatten-Lobhornhuette-Sulsalp-Sulwald/Isenfluh
- Friday - Burglauenen-Ritten-Spaetenalp-Leiterhorn-Wengen
Gentle Walking Weeks
Starting on 21 June, our more gentle walking weeks enable less keen hikers to experience the splendor of the Jungfrau. Walks are between 8 and 11km (2hrs 30mins to 3 hrs actual walking time) with up to 200m ascent on the following routes:
- Monday - Holenstein-Hubelwald-Blattmad-Brandegg/Allmend-Wengen
- Tuesday - Gruetschalp-Winteregg-Muerren/Stechelberg-Lauterbrunnen
- Thursday - Gross Scheidegg-Oberlaeger-Baergelegg-First
- Friday - Lauterbrunnen-Zweiluetschinen/Wilderswill-Bonigen-Interlaken
It is essential that you have good walking boots, an anorak, sunglasses and a small rucksack. A stop will be made for lunch at a mountain restaurant or for a picnic (not included). Telescopic walking ticks can be hired.
